Since its formation in 1991 Shanghai Neles-Jamesbury has developed into a world class quality valve manufacturer utilizing modern western management methods and tools. It is truly a western valve company located in China. Development highlights include:

　　The company was certified to ISO 9001 in June 1993 by DNV and licensed by API, under their Q1 quality program, to use the API 6D monogram in 1994. In addition the company has a Chinese Nuclear Design and Manufacturing License and several awards for achievements in the field of technology and manufacturing excellence.
　·Advanced Product Technology
　　SNJ has introduced the design and manufacturing technology for Jamesbury “double-seal” ball valves, Wafer-Sphere high performance butterfly valves and Quadra-Powr rotary spring diaphragm actuators and learned the advanced manufacturing technology for Neles metal seated butterfly valves. Other product designs have been reviewed and tested by Neles and Jamesbury engineering staff to assure compliance with international standards.
　　These products are produced to both Chinese standards and international standards such as ANSI, API, ASTM, BS and DIN.
　·Modern Design Methods
　　SNJ was the first valve company in China to use a CAD system and now has about 10 workstations.
　·Advance Manufacturing and Test Equipment
The company uses 20 CNC machines, imported from USA, Japan and South Korea. It has test facilities to perform chemical analysis and physical characteristics of materials; coordinate-measuring machines imported from the USA and test stands for hydrostatic and seat testing of each product.
